HELP!!! I am throwing a party for my toddler and her preschool friends! Any advice?
Over the Top Says:
Preschool parties are really about the adult guests- little kids wont remember a thing and making a big deal might scare the wee ones. To keep the party tear free (as much as possible):
Invite family and the kids your toddler plays with. The rule for the appropriate number of guests is your child’s age plus one. IF he is turning two, three guests is great! Keep it brief, an hour and a half is plenty, as wee ones get over whelmed easily. Play, have a snack, sing and eat cake is just right.
Set up play stations-
Most youngsters between the ages of 2 and 3 preferr to roam and have opened ended activities. Age appropriate toys like mesh tents, large foam blocks, large balls, bubbles (check out the no spill kind at Wal-mart or Target) sidewalk chalk and ride on toys do far better than a sit down craft. (They’d just eat or wear it anyways)
Keep food finger friendly-
Simplicity is the key with toddlers: cut up fruit, cheese and crackers and juice boxes make them squeal with glee.
Most importantly, take this time to make some quality time with your birthday kiddo. Make a paprer hat. Have him/her help pick out their outfit, and have fun scribbling on the thank you notes.
Here’s to sidewalk chalk memories and a bubbly big day,
Val

My daughter is turning three and wants a tea party birthday. I want to invite her preschool class. How do I include the boys?

Tea parties are a lot of fun! To make them memorable for both sexes use a theme that can be unisex like Mad hatter’s tea party or teddy bear tea. Your young gentlemen guests can bring their own favorite outrageous hat or manly stuffed animal! Also, you could do a Royal Tea and your young guests could dress like Knights and Princesses! (You never know, your young gentlemen guests may even try a scone!)
Best party Wishes and Millions of happy memories,
Crystal
